What really took me by surprise were the stunning pink sandy beaches of Sveti Stefan, Miločer Beach, and Queen’s Beach. If you’re on the lookout for a more affordable alternative to the famous pink beaches of Crete, Montenegro should definitely be on your travel radar. Risan has a rich history, dating back to the ancient settlement of Rhizon, which is considered the oldest site in the Bay of Kotor. Nestled deep within the bay, Risan is beautifully sheltered by the towering limestone cliffs of the Orjen mountain range, the highest in the eastern Adriatic.

During my five-day stay in Montenegro, I made the decision to focus on the beautiful beaches close to my accommodation at Apartments Nikvik. Additionally, the waters at Jaz Beach were shallower compared to Ploce Beach, making it an inviting place for a swim. The temperature of the water was just right, allowing me to enjoy a refreshing dip without the shock of cold water. If you find yourself near Budva, I highly recommend taking the time to explore Jaz Beach.
