How to get to Morecambe Beach?

You can get to Morecambe from Lancaster train station in just 14 minutes. Then, it is a 0,2 mile walk to the beach which should not take more than 5 minutes. If you are traveling from Preston or Manchester Picadilly, you will need to change a train in Lancaster to get to Morecambe.

Are dogs allowed on Morecambe Beach?
Yes, dogs are allowed on Morecambe Beach in England, but there are some restrictions that dog owners should be aware of. During the summer months, from May 1st to September 30th, dogs are not allowed on certain sections of the beach. These include Morecambe’s North and South Beaches.
It’s always a good idea to check local signs and information before taking your dog to the beach to make sure you are following any rules or regulations. Breaching them can result in a fixed penalty notice of £100 that needs to be paid within 14 days. If you pay the penalty within 7 days, it will be reduced to £65.
There are still areas of the beach where dogs are allowed all year round. Outside Morecambe’s North and South Zones you can find dog friendly beaches, so it is always worth considering travelling to Morecambe with your furry friend.
Morecambe North Beach
Morecambe North Beach stretches for 0,3 mile along the coastline and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike, especially during the summer months when the weather is warm and sunny. The best time to visit Morecambe Beach is in July when average maximum temperatures reach 19°C. During a heatwave, you can expect more than 23°C.
Only a short walk from Morecambe North Beach, you will find Eric Morecambe Statue. This famous English comedian was born in Morecambe. Moreover, this beautiful beach town in Lancashire was named after his stage name.
The views from Morecambe North Beach are breathing and depict the striking Lake District skyline. Metal sculpture by the beach represents Lake District peaks, making it an amazing attraction in Morecambe.
Morecambe North Beach spans from Bay Arena Car Park to Marine Road Car Park. There is plenty of space for a picnic, flying a kite, or swimming. This sandy beach is also next to the promenade where you can enjoy long walks by Morecambe coast.

The Morecambe Stone Jetty Lighthouse is a Grade II listed structure adjacent to Stone Jetty Cafe. It is a perfect spot for people to take leisurely walks and watch the sunset next to the lighthouse.
Morecambe Beach – Bird Sculptures
