I have the impression that a real interest in lavender fields is just beginning. I’d never been interested in lavender until the last summer when social media has been flooded with photos of lavender fields. I could not stop watching the wonderful pictures in a perfect purple paradise. I have started looking for lavender fields in the area where I lived. It turns out that I was unaware of the existence of this place for four years. Mayfield Lavender Farm was so close to me. I think it is not very popular yet and it is worth going there as soon as possible.

Mayfield Lavender Farm – Lavender History
Mayfield Lavender Farm can be visited since 2006. What’s more interesting, this field is located in one of the original Victorian lavender fields. Currently, it is the largest organic lavender farm in the UK. Chemicals are not used there, and weeds are removed by hand. You’ll see it immediately.

When is the best time to visit Mayfield Lavender Farm?
There is a limited number of parking spaces, so the best time to visit is in the morning. Moreover, it gets quite busy in the afternoon, especially on the weekends. Middle of the week is the best choice! Lavender begins to bloom in mid-June, and the peak of the season is July and August. We visited the lavender field at the beginning of July and I must admit that it looked beautiful.
