When we were deciding where to stay in Krabi, we found that choosing a hotel by Ao Nang beach was the perfect option for us. It allowed us to easily explore the nearby islands and indulge in delicious Thai cuisine. After some research, we decided to book a room at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.

One of the things I loved about staying at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach was its location. Despite being close to the vibrant nightlife of Ao Nang, the hotel was not directly on the beachfront. This made it a much quieter and more peaceful place to relax, while still being within easy reach of amazing restaurants and attractions in the area.

Moreover, the BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach is just a short walk from the monkey trail. You can also easily access Pai Plong Beach, which is right next to the luxurious 5-star hotel Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi. 

Another reason why I loved staying at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach was an easy access to Ao Nang beach. From there, you can take advantage of numerous tours to explore different islands in the area. Maya Bay, Ko Phi Phi Le – Krabi What to Visit?

The fame of Maya Bay skyrocketed after it was featured in the movie The Beach, which starred the talented Leonardo Di Caprio. This led to an influx of tourists eager to experience the beauty of this iconic location for themselves.

However, the delicate ecosystem of Maya Bay suffered greatly due to the overwhelming number of visitors. As a result, the bay was closed for four years between 2018 and 2022 to allow for the restoration of its natural habitat.

Now, with new regulations in place, visitors can still enjoy the beauty of Maya Bay while ensuring its long-term preservation. Swimming in its crystal-clear waters is strictly forbidden. Instead, visitors are only allowed to walk in water up to knee depth. 

While the swimming ban may disappoint some visitors who dream of diving into the inviting waters of Maya Bay, it does have its silver lining. One advantage of this restriction is that it allows for a more serene and picturesque experience. Without the crowds of swimmers, it becomes easier to capture stunning photos without any distractions.

Thale Waek – Krabi What to Visit?

Thale Waek, also known as the Separated Sea, is a stunning collection of three islands nestled in the Andaman Sea. These islands, namely Koh Tub, Koh Mor, and Koh Kai, boast picturesque sandy beaches that seamlessly connect with each other during low tide.

One of the most fascinating features of Thale Waek is the ability to walk across from Koh Kai to Koh Tub when the tide is at its lowest. To experience this natural wonder, it is recommended to visit around five days before or after the full moon day, when the tide is at its lowest point.

Lao Lading Island – Krabi What to Visit?

We recently visited Lao Lading, also known as Paradise Island, during a boat excursion from Krabi. This small island is incredibly picturesque, with its beautiful beach and tall limestone cliffs that offer great photography opportunities. One of the highlights of Lao Lading is the swing located on the beach, offering a perfect spot to capture breathtaking photos. 

Despite the beauty of the island, it’s important to be cautious while swimming in the waters surrounding Lao Lading. During our visit, we noticed a significant number of jellyfish, which limited our time in the water. It’s a common occurrence around many islands in Krabi, so it’s essential to be aware of this before diving in.

Koh Pakbia – Krabi What to Visit?

When we visited the charming Koh Pak Bia island, we were  immediately captivated by the unique sandbank that connects the two parts of the island. This sandbank not only adds to the beauty of the island but also provides fantastic opportunities for taking stunning photos.

As we explored further, we discovered a swing similar to the one found at Lao Lading, which is perfect for capturing unforgettable moments. Interestingly, the swing at Koh Pak Bia was a bit hidden, making it easier to take photos without the crowds compared to the swing at Lao Lading.

Our tour group had brought along lunch for us, as there are no restaurants on the islands. We enjoyed a relaxing meal surrounded by the natural beauty of the island. Although we didn’t have enough time to swim and there were a lot of jellyfish in the water, we still had a wonderful time exploring the island and taking in the picturesque views.

Hong Island – Krabi What to Visit?

When I visited Hong Island (Koh Hong), I was determined to reach the incredible viewpoint that our guide was talking about. It was quite a challenge, as I had to climb 420 steps to get there, but I knew it would be worth it. Just a few days earlier, I made my way up to the Wat Tham Suea temple, and I must say, reaching the Hong Island viewpoint felt like a breeze in comparison.

As I explored the waters surrounding Hong Island, I couldn’t help but notice the abundance of marine life. Among them were the sergeant major fish, with their striking black and yellow stripes. However, having seen these fishes in abundance during my previous trip to Jamaica, I wasn’t as impressed this time.

Why Should You Visit Hong Island?

Despite my underwhelming encounter with the sergeant major fish, I still believe that Hong Island is one of the best islands to visit in Krabi. I was lucky enough to spot some fascinating wildlife, including the water monitor animal. These creatures are known for their swimming abilities, although I was informed that they are more commonly found along nature trails in the forest. 

The forest itself was a treasure trove of hidden stalactites and stalagmites formations. Moreover, the large trees with roots that spread out like wings to support the trunk were a natural wonder worth witnessing. These magical roots thrives in areas with high humidity.

Exploring Hong Island also offers nature enthusiasts a unique opportunity to observe some birds in their natural habitat. From the melodious songs of the oriental magpie-robin to the vibrant colors of the collared kingfisher, each bird species adds to the rich biodiversity on the island.

Visitors to the island have also the opportunity to spot not only many species of birds including pied hornbill, green-winged pigeon, blue whistling thrush, white-rumped shama, Indochinese blue flycatcher, edible-nest swiftlet, tailorbird, Streak-eared bulbull, but also mountain crabs.

Ko Poda – Krabi What to Visit?

I had the an incredible experience visiting Ko Poda, an enchanting island located just off the west coast of Thailand. Being only 8 kilometers away from Ao Nang, where we were staying at BlueSotel SMART, it was the perfect destination for a day trip. As soon as I set foot on the island, I was instantly captivated by its beauty and tranquility. It felt like stepping into a paradise that was waiting to be explored.

One particular highlight was the magnificent rock formation known as Ko Ma Tang Ming, which stood proudly opposite the Ko Poda Beach. Its sheer size and grandeur left me in awe, because it was the first of this type rocks I have seen in Thailand from close up.

Our tour group had thoughtfully arranged for breakfast to be provided, ensuring that we started our day with a burst of energy. Imagine enjoying breakfast in such a serene location before arriving other tourists. Ko Poda truly exceeded all my expectations, and I left the island with memories that will stay with me forever.

For those seeking an even more secluded and peaceful experience, there is a hidden gem on Ko Poda Island – a secret beach. Although it may require booking a private tour, the effort is undoubtedly worth it.

Ko Phi Phi Don – Krabi What to Visit?

When we visited Thailand, we had also the opportunity to explore the beautiful Ko Phi Phi Don, which is the largest island in the Ko Phi Phi archipelago. With its impressive size of 9.73 km2 (3.76 mi2), this island stretches for about 8 kilometers (5.0 miles) in length and is approximately 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) wide.

It is worth mentioning that a part of the island falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Ao Nang in Krabi Province. What makes Ko Phi Phi Don unique is that it is the only island in the group that has permanent inhabitants, although most of them are temporary workers who cater to the needs of the thriving tourist industry.

Should You Stay at Ko Phi Phi Don Island?

In my opinion, if you are planning a visit to Ko Phi Phi Don, it is highly recommended to book accommodation on the island rather than opting for a day trip. By staying overnight, you will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the island’s charm and explore it at your own pace. One of the highlights of staying on the island is the chance to climb up to the viewpoint, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. 

Similar to the other islands in the archipelago, Ko Phi Phi Don is primarily composed of limestone and is not of volcanic origin. Interestingly, the island is almost divided into two separate land masses, but there is a narrow strip of flat land that connects them. This strip of land is where you will find the largest settlement on the island, along with a majority of the resorts such as Phi Phi CoCo Beach Resort, Phi Phi Cliff Beach Resort or Phi Phi Harbour View Hotel.

Bamboo Island – Krabi What to Visit?

Bamboo Island was the final stop on our Phi Phi islands tour. When we arrived, the beach was bustling with people, and the low tide made it a bit difficult to enjoy a comfortable swim. On top of that, my partner and I were feeling extremely exhausted from the day’s activities, so we couldn’t fully appreciate the beauty of the place.

However, we decided to take a leisurely walk along the beach, hoping to find a quieter spot. And to our delight, we stumbled upon a secluded area with stunning views of the crystal-clear water and some rocks scattered in the distance.

Similan Islands – Krabi What to Visit?

When my friends and I were in Thailand, we were initially unsure about whether or not to book a tour to the Similan Islands. We had heard that the tour starts early in the morning because of the long distance from Krabi or Phuket. However, after seeing pictures of the stunning island that resembled Seychelles, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit. In the end, we decided to take the plunge and book the tour.

Despite the long bus journey to the pier, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I slept through the entire bus trip. This meant that I had plenty of energy to enjoy the day ahead. It’s important to note that the tour to the Similan Islands is quite lengthy. We opted to book the tour from Phuket, which is slightly closer than Krabi. After a full day of exploring the beautiful islands, we returned to our hotel a whopping 14 hours later.

Looking back, I can confidently say that we have no regrets about our decision to visit the Similan Islands. The crystal-clear turquoise waters, pristine white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life made it all worth it.

What Can You See at Similan Islands?

I have been fortunate enough to witness the beauty of turtles in various parts of Europe, such as Cyprus and Zakynthos. However, my excitement reached new heights when I set foot on the Similan Islands in Thailand, as I had heard tales of these magnificent creatures thriving in these waters.

Although luck was not on my side during the tour, my disappointment was short-lived when one of my friends encountered numerous turtles just a few days later. It became evident that spotting these incredible creatures in the Similan Islands is possible with a bit o luck.

While the absence of turtles may have left a void in our hearts, the Similan Islands had a surprise in store for us. As we explored the crystal-clear waters surrounding the islands, we were greeted by an array of fish species that we had never encountered before.

Reflecting on our holiday experiences in Mexico and Jamaica, we were astounded by the diverse marine life we encountered. However, the Similan Islands managed to surpass our expectations by introducing us to fish species that were entirely new to us.

Hong Island

During our stay in Phuket, my friends and I made the decision to venture out and explore the captivating islands of Phang-na Province. Although it is also possible to visit these islands from Krabi, we opted for the closer option. Excitedly, we booked a tour to James Bond island, which also included a visit to the stunning Hong Island.

As we embarked on our adventure, we were accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide who made our experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights of the tour was kayaking around the island. The best part was that our guide took care of all the paddling, so we didn’t have to exert any energy. Instead, we could fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking scenery that surrounded us.

During kayaking excursion, our guide pointed out various rock formations, each with its own unique shape and story. One particularly fascinating formation resembled a piranha, adding an element of excitement to our journey. Additionally, as we gazed upwards, we were delighted to discover a heart-shaped formation created by the intertwining branches of the trees above us. 

Overall, the experience of kayaking around the islands of Phang-na Province was an absolute delight. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone visiting Thailand.

James Bond Island

The island gained its fame after being featured in the 1974 Bond movie “The Man With The Golden Gun” starring Roger Moore and Christopher Lee. Before the movie, not many people were aware of this stunning location. The iconic rock formation has since become a must-see attraction for those exploring Phuket and its surrounding areas. 

The island, which is relatively small in size, is a popular tourist destination, so it can get quite crowded with visitors. Despite the crowds, I found the unique rock formations and stunning scenery to be truly breathtaking. It was a bit challenging to take photos without other tourists in the background, but I managed to capture some beautiful shots of the iconic island.

One of the highlights of my visit to James Bond Island was exploring the local stalls. I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of unique souvenirs available for purchase. One particular item that caught my eye was a beautiful shell bag that I instantly fell in love with.

Panyee Island

My visit to Ko Panyi, also known as Koh Panyee, was truly fascinating. This fishing village in Phang Nga Province, Thailand, is unlike any other place I have ever seen. It was built on stilts by Javanese fishermen and is home to about 360 families, totaling around 1,600 people. The residents are descendants of two seafaring Muslim families from Java Island, Indonesia, which adds to the unique cultural heritage of the village.

When our tour boat stopped at Ko Panyi for lunch, I was eager to explore the island. I had heard about the floating football pitch and mosque, and I couldn’t wait to see them in person. However, I quickly realized that the village is not very walkable from the area where we stopped for lunch. The easiest way to get around is by boat, which was a bit unexpected but added to the charm of the place. Despite not being able to walk around as much as I had hoped, I stayed near the restaurant and took some stunning photos of the intricate architecture of the buildings.

Naka Island

During my time in Thailand, I had the opportunity to explore over 10 islands. I found that swimming at most of them was not very enjoyable due to shallow waters and numerous jellyfish. However, my experience at Naka Island was a pleasant surprise. The water was deeper and free of jellyfish, making it a great spot for swimming.

Koh Naka Yai is conveniently located close to Phuket, making it an ideal destination for a day trip or a longer stay. If you want to spend more time on the island, I highly recommend staying at The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket. The resort offers a luxurious experience with beautiful surroundings and comfortable accommodations.

Phra nang Cave Beach

Visiting Phra Nang Cave Beach from Krabi is a breeze, and the island atmosphere there is amazing. Just head to the Ao Nang Longtail boat service near the beach, buy a ticket to Railay beach, and take a less than 20-minute walk to Phra Nang Cave Beach. 

Phra Nang Cave Beach is a popular stop on the Krabi 4 Island Tour that departs from the hotels in Krabi town, Ao Nang or Klong Muang. At the beach lies the famous Phra Nang Cave, known as the Princess Cave to local fishermen. The cave is filled with phallic symbols, believed to bring fertility and fulfill wishes for children. It’s a truly iconic spot in Railay.

During our stay in Thailand we’ve visited Phra Nang Cave Beach twice from Krabi, and we still feel like there’s so much more to explore. I highly recommend spending a few days there at the luxurious Villa Macaque and Villa Languor. For more budget-friendly options, Railay Princess Resort and Spa is just a short walk from Phra Nang Cave Beach.

Railay Beach

Railay, or Rai Leh as it is also known, is a charming little peninsula nestled between Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. The only way to reach this hidden gem is by boat, as the towering limestone cliffs create a natural barrier from the mainland.

These cliffs are a magnet for rock climbers from around the globe, who come here to challenge themselves on the vertical faces. However, Railay is not just for thrill-seekers; it is equally beloved for its pristine beaches and tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty.

One of the most enchanting sights at Railay Beach is the presence of vibrant and colorful long tail boats lining the shore. These traditional boats add a touch of charm to the already picturesque scenery. However, it is important to note that swimming at this location is dependent on the tide. During low tide, the water level recedes, making it impossible to take a dip.

Additionally, the presence of sharp rocks in the water can pose a risk of injury, so it is advisable to have the appropriate travel accessories to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Where to Stay near the Railay Beach?

When it comes to accommodation, Railay offers a range of options to suit different preferences and budgets. In East Railay, you can find cozy bungalows and reasonably priced resorts such Railay Viewpoint Resort, providing a comfortable stay without breaking the bank.

On the other hand, West Railay is home to a selection of luxurious resorts that cater to those seeking a more indulgent experience. One notable resort, Royavadee, spans both waterfronts and even boasts a beachfront Grotto restaurant at Ao Phra Nang, allowing guests to savor delicious meals while enjoying the breathtaking views.

Pai Plong Beach

Pai Plong Beach is a stunning destination with a unique path leading to it called the Monkey Trail. This trail offers breathtaking views of the golden sandy beach and the majestic limestone cliffs. If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of monkeys along the way, it’s best to head there early in the morning when the temperature is cooler. Unfortunately, when my partner and I visited around 11 am, we didn’t spot a single monkey!

Accommodation at Pai Plong Beach

For those looking to stay right by the beach, the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi is an excellent choice. Situated by a less crowded beach compared to Ao Nang, this hotel still provides convenient access to all the attractions in the area.

Guests at the hotel can enjoy the advantage of being in a more secluded location. For example, if you book a tour from the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi, you’ll likely be the last one picked up directly from Pai Plong Beach, while others have to make their way to Ao Nang port early in the morning by tour bus. This means you can enjoy a bit more sleep before your adventure.

Moreover, guests at the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi will be the first to be dropped off after the tour, making the journey back to the hotel less tiring compared to other participants. Just keep in mind that during low tide, the boat may not be able to reach the floating pier, requiring you to walk through the water towards Pai Plong Beach. Alternatively, you can choose to return with others to Ao Nang port, although most tourists opt for the quicker route.

Ao Nang Beach

During my recent stay at BlueSotel SMART Krabi, I found myself not taking a dip in the waters of Ao Nang Beach even once! Instead, my friend and I made it a ritual to head to the beach in the evenings to witness the breathtaking sunsets while sipping on a cold Chang beer (Chang means elephant in Thai).

Ao Nang is lined with numerous beachfront restaurants such as The Last Fisherman, which not only offer delicious meals but also host mesmerizing fire shows right on the beach. Ao Nang Beach is a bustling spot in Krabi, providing easy access to local shops and various boat excursions for tourists to explore the surrounding islands.

If you’re looking to capture some Instagram-worthy shots, you’ll come across a few swings strategically placed along the beach. However, do note that this area tends to get quite crowded, and every time I strolled along the beach, there was always someone enjoying the swings.

Wat Tham Suea

My experience at Wat Tham Suea, also known as the Tiger Cave Temple, was truly awe-inspiring. Located in Krabi, Thailand, this Buddhist temple is a sacred site famous for the tiger paw prints in the cave, the tall Buddha statues, and the challenging 1,260 stairs that lead to the summit. During my tour, our guide allowed us two hours to climb to the top of Wat Tham Suea and return, giving us ample time to explore and take in the breathtaking views.

As I made my way up the stairs, I encountered playful monkeys roaming around the lower buildings and temple grounds, adding a sense of liveliness to the serene surroundings. Upon reaching the summit, I was greeted by a magnificent golden Buddha statue and a panoramic view of Krabi town and the surrounding landscape. It was a moment of tranquility and spiritual connection that I will always cherish.

The history and legends surrounding Wat Tham Suea added an extra layer of intrigue to my visit. The temple’s foundation dates back to 1975 when a Vipassana monk meditated in the cave and witnessed tigers roaming around. The discovery of tiger paw prints in the cave walls and the cave’s resemblance to a tiger’s paw led to the temple’s name.

Railay Stalactite

Upon arriving at Railay Beach, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a hidden gem just a 20-minute walk away – Railay Stalactite. These stunning formations are perfect for exploring, especially during the first few days in Thailand to avoid getting sunburned. Not only do the stalactites provide ample shade, but they are also popular spots for monkeys to hang out.

Spending time at Railay Stalactite was a memorable part of my trip to Thailand, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and wildlife. The peaceful ambiance and the opportunity to observe monkeys in their natural habitat made this hidden gem a must-visit destination. I highly recommend taking the short walk from Railay Beach to Railay Stalactite to experience the magic of this enchanting location.

Emerald Lagoon Railay

As soon as my friend started sharing his experiences of conquering Railay Lagoon, I instantly felt a strong urge to explore this destination in Krabi. The sheer verticality of the rock walls that he described, painted a thrilling picture of Thailand in my mind.

His advice to avoid wearing my best attire due to the muddy terrain and the possibility of tearing my clothes during the climb only added to the excitement and anticipation.

Having successfully climbed many mountains before, I naively believed that tackling Railay Lagoon wouldn’t be that hard. However, I quickly realized that I had severely underestimated the intensity of this climb. It pushed me to my limits and tested my physical and mental strength like never before. It was undoubtedly one of the most arduous challenges I had ever faced during my holiday.

Things You Should Know About Climbing Emerald Lagoon

Climbing Railay Lagoon was truly an unforgettable adventure during my time in Thailand. The stunning views and the sense of accomplishment at the end made it all worth it. However, I must stress that it is crucial to have a reliable climbing partner with you. The terrain can be challenging and potentially dangerous, so having someone to assist you is essential for a safe and enjoyable experience.

As I made my way back from the lagoon, there were moments where I found myself in tricky situations. At one point, I had to rely on my partner’s strength to help me climb up a vertical wall. Being a tall person, I still faced difficulties in certain areas, so I can only imagine how challenging it might be for someone shorter. It’s important to be prepared for the physical demands of the climb and to have someone there to support you along the way.

Additionally, there was a section along the route where we had to maneuver through the narrow opening between rocks. Having a more experienced climber with you can make a huge difference in these situations. I witnessed my partner assisting other climbers by guiding them on where to place their feet, especially when descending a vertical wall. Without this guidance, it would have been much more challenging for them. So, if you plan on climbing Railay Lagoon, make sure to go with someone who is physically fit and experienced to ensure a safe and successful climb.

Make Sure to Pack Enough Water

When I decided to explore Railay lagoon, I made sure to pack enough water for the journey. It’s essential to bring at least two bottles per person, as the climb can be quite strenuous and you’ll need to stay hydrated. Luckily, my travel companions and I always carry reusable water bottles that keep our drinks refreshingly cold throughout the entire day.

Even though we embarked on our adventure to Railay lagoon on a cloudy day, the humidity made it feel like we were in a sauna. However, the moment we reached the lagoon, all our discomfort melted away. This hidden gem provided a much-needed respite, and we couldn’t resist taking a refreshing swim in its waters. It was truly a tranquil oasis amidst the lush surroundings.

One thing to keep in mind is that reaching the lagoon requires some patience. The climb down can take a bit of time, and there is only one path, so you may have to wait for others to make their way up or down. To avoid any time constraints or the stress of returning before nightfall, I highly recommend starting your journey in the early morning. This will give you ample time to enjoy the climb and the lagoon without feeling rushed.

If you’re not feeling confident about tackling the challenging climb to Railay Lagoon, there’s an alternative option you can consider. Why not give the East Railay Viewpoint a try? This route is much easier and offers beautiful views too.

The starting point for the climb to East Railay Viewpoint is the same as the one for Railay Lagoon. Once you reach the top, all you need to do is turn left and follow the path to the viewpoint. It’s just a short walk away from there, making it a convenient choice for those looking for a less strenuous hike.

Elephant Sanctuary

During our stay in Thailand, my partner and I made the decision to visit Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (Bang Tao Branch) while we were based in Phuket. However, there are also numerous elephant shelters in Krabi, such as the Krabi Elephant Shelter, that are worth exploring. The idea of interacting with these majestic creatures in a responsible and ethical manner was something that greatly appealed to us.

The tour to the elephant sanctuary turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. It was a heartwarming experience to know that by participating in the tour, we were contributing to the well-being of elephants that had previously endured harsh conditions in forestry operations and riding camps. These sanctuaries play a crucial role in rescuing elephants from exploitation and providing them with a safe and comfortable environment to live in.

Thanks to a friend who had been backpacking through South East Asia, we were able to discover some hidden gems when it came to dining in Krabi such as Halal May & Zin Restaurant.

In addition to our friend’s recommendations, our hotel representative also pointed us in the direction of some fantastic dining spots in Krabi. One of the places we were advised to try was Sea Salt Krabi Restaurant, known for its fresh seafood dishes and stunning views. Another recommendation was Café 8.98 Ao Nang, a cozy cafe offering a variety of beverages.

Family Thaifood & Seafood

We discovered Family Thaifood & Seafood through a recommendation from our hotel representative, and I am so glad we did. Throughout our week-long stay, we dined at this restaurant a total of FOUR TIMES. We would not come back there if food was not one of the best in Krabi. This restaurant not only does it provide incredible value for money, but it is also a favorite among locals and tourists alike.

The popularity of Family Thaifood & Seafood is evident, especially during peak hours. If you plan on dining there after 7pm, be prepared to wait outside until a table becomes available. Despite the wait, the delicious dishes served at this restaurant make it all worth it. Our favorites included the yellow curry, pad thai, and pineapple curry. Additionally, seafood lovers will appreciate the wide selection of fresh fish dishes available.

Railay Beach Restaurant

I had the most incredible Thai dish at this amazing restaurant nestled on Railay Beach. Let me tell you, the chicken with sweet basil leaves was an absolute delight for my taste buds. This dish was bursting with flavors and perfectly cooked, leaving me craving for more. The combination of tender chicken and aromatic basil was simply heavenly.

What made the dining experience even more memorable was the breathtaking view from the restaurant. As I savored every bite of my meal, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the stunning vista of Railay Beach. The golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and towering limestone cliffs created a picturesque backdrop that added a touch of romance to our lunch.

To complete this idyllic scene, I treated myself to a refreshing fresh coconut drink. Sipping on the cool, sweet coconut water while taking in the beauty of the surroundings was pure bliss. It was the perfect way to unwind and indulge in the tranquility of my holiday. I couldn’t have asked for a better combination of delicious food, breathtaking views, and a refreshing drink to make my dining experience truly unforgettable.

Kodam Kitchen

I absolutely loved dining at Kodam Kitchen, it’s one of the most popular restaurants in Krabi. The presentation of their dishes is simply stunning, especially when they serve rice wrapped in a leaf. What impressed me the most was their lightning-fast service, it was the quickest we’ve ever experienced in Krabi.

Just keep in mind that if you arrive late, you might have to wait outside for a bit, but don’t worry, it’s a testament to how sought-after this place is. I tried Thai drumsticks and I absolutely loved it.

Halal May & Zin Restaurant

Our friend, who has been backpacking in South East Asia, highly recommended the Halal May & Zin Restaurant to us. The friendly staff immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable.

At Halal May & Zin Restaurant, we had the pleasure of sampling their delicious curry and pad thai dishes. The curry had the perfect balance of spices, creating a rich and aromatic sauce that coated the tender meat and vegetables. As for the pad thai, it was a delightful combination of stir-fried noodles, chicken and fresh herbs.

Ao Nang Landmark Night Market

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to sample some exotic dishes like insects or crocodile meat, make sure to stop by the Ao Nang Landmark Night Market. During our visit, we decided to play it safe and opted for their delicious fruit smoothies instead. They were hands down the best smoothies we had during our entire stay in Krabi.

While the fruit smoothies were definitely worth the wait, it’s important to note that some of them took around 10 minutes to be prepared. This may be a bit of a disadvantage if you are not used to the pace of Thai service.

Roadside Bar

Adjacent to our accommodation at BlueSotel SMART, we stumbled upon a quaint Roadside Bar. Intrigued, we made a pit stop to grab a bite to eat. While the main dish we ordered wasn’t the most outstanding we’ve ever had in Thailand, the spring rolls were a pleasant surprise. In fact, we found them to be the best we’ve tasted so far.

Surprisingly, even the renowned Family Thaifood & Seafood restaurants couldn’t match up to the delicious spring rolls served at the Roadside Bar. The crispy exterior and flavorful filling made it a delightful appetizer that we couldn’t get enough of.

Aonang food center

In search of an alternative to the crowded Family Thaifood & Seafood restaurant, we stumbled upon Aonang food center, a lesser-known establishment with only a few reviews on Google. As we entered the restaurant, we immediately noticed that it wasn’t as busy as the other places we had visited in Krabi.

The food at Aonang food center was simply outstanding, and it exceeded our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the fact that the restaurant was tucked away from the bustling street, providing a more serene dining experience.

Just a word of caution, though – make sure to inquire about the spiciness level of the dishes before ordering, as one of them caught us off guard with its extreme spiciness. Also, keep in mind that staff seemed to be a bit slower compared to other restaurants we had visited in Krabi.
